Recap:

Well, what can I say? You guys missed a helluva day! I left later than I expected, but arrived at the trailhead at roughly 10:30. It was Hot! The temperature was about 70 degrees farenheit at the base. The colors were in full regalia. I ran into a guy coming down who told me things got a little hairy up ahead. He exaggerated. The cliff was quite rocky, and slow going, but nothing to be overly concerned with in dry weather. Eagle Cliff allows a splendid view of the entire Sandwich Range. The few clouds were quite high, and visibility was in the 70-mile range. I took some pictures from the cliff (soon to be here). The summit of Red Hill is home to an abandoned fire tower, which provided even more views of the Sanwich Range, Squam Region Lakes, and Lake Winnipesaukee. It was quite windy atop the tower, and the structure itself has seen better days. I took some photos from here as well. I returned via the same route, pausing to eat lunch on the cliff. I left the trailhead at 2:00. I'm going to earmark this one as a potential winter climb.

This is the view of Squam Lake(s) from Eagle Cliff.

And the awesome view of the entire Sandwich Range, also from Eagle Cliff.

Here's my proof that I was actually there!

In the center of this photo, you can just barely make out the fire tower on top of Red Hill. This vantage point lies on the backside of Eagle Cliff.

Red Hill is also accessible by a jeep road which is less than half the route of the Eagle Cliff Trail. Needless to say, I had ample company at the summit as a result. This is the abandoned fire tower which provided the vantage point for the next four photos.

Lastly, this was my view for lunch on the return trip. Not too shabby.
